Oxymoron

Show you an oxymoron

Saw this Scotch Tape Label outside the school ladies. :D
Realize what an Oxymoron it is.

My school's classes are not list as "A" "B" "C" and all that, as in like 3A 3B and 3C.
They go by virtues. for example "Care" "Hope" and as for this case "Faith"
Faith is a Choice to Just Believe somethings without being proven..

As you might have known, Science is about Numbers calculation and all that,
but this one, is By Faith! :D

think its a label to ask people not to remove a science exhibition piece ba. :)

Everyone can be a virgin, even after knowing a man...
Then again, how do we tell if a man is a virgin? :D
so it should be
A woman can still be a virgin, even after knowing a man

-
Muslim women in France restore virginity

By Alexandra Steigrad

PARIS (Reuters) -- Sitting in a cafe near the Champs Elysees, the 26-year-old French-born woman of Algerian descent looks like any other Parisian. But two months ago, she did something none of her friends have done.

She had her hymen re-sewn, technically making her a virgin again.

"I'm glad I had it done," said the woman, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity. "I wanted to reconstruct part of my life, to reconstruct myself so that I could feel better about myself."

This 30-minute outpatient procedure, called "hymenoplasty" and costing between 1,500 and 3,000 euros (1,000 and 2,000 pounds), is increasingly popular among young women of North African descent in France.

No exact figures exist to say how many such operations are done, but the woman's surgeon says he gets three to five queries and performs one to three hymenoplasties each week. Demand has been rising for the past three or four years.

Doctor Marc Abecassis, whose office is near the chic Champs Elysees, sees the rise in religion among France's five million Muslims fuelling this trend. His patients are between 18 and 45 years old, Muslim, born both in France and in North Africa.

"Many of my patients are caught between two worlds," said Abecassis. They have had sex already but are expected to be virgins at marriage according to a custom that he called "cultural and traditional, with enormous family pressure".

For this woman, the decision to have the surgery came after she broke up with a boyfriend who had pressured her into having sex. Unable to cope with breaking family tradition, she felt a hymenoplasty would help put her life back together again.

Another of Abecassis' patients, a 22-year-old Algerian immigrant who asked to be called Karima, said most young women had the operation to respect their culture or family tradition, not for religious reasons.

In fact, neither woman is a practising Muslim. They dress, speak and act like other young Parisians, but are also part of a growing silent group of women who juggle traditional Muslim and modern French values.

All the women who spoke to Reuters did so condition that their identities not be revealed.

DON'T DISAPPOINT THE FIANCE

Karima also lost her virginity to an ex-boyfriend. She plans to marry soon and her fiancé expects her to be a virgin. So last month, she commuted in from an eastern suburb of Paris, where she lives with her parents, and had the surgery.

The next day she was back at work. "I don't want to disappoint my fiancé," she said, adjusting her glasses and brushing her highlighted brown hair from her face. "I wouldn't have had the surgery if I hadn't met him."

A leading Muslim spokesman said Islam says bride and groom should be virgins before marriage, but did not take a clear stand for or against hymenoplasties.

"If someone committed a sin, the essential thing is to repent," said Lhaj Thami Breze, head of the Union of French Islamic Organizations.

For many doctors, resewing the hymen goes against their ideals of sexual freedom and personal liberty.

"The surgery is an attack on women's dignity," said Professor Jacques Lansac, president of The National College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians of France. "We will not take part in a market that places value on the quality of a woman -- if she's good or not. It is an attack on women's liberty."

He also argued that any doctor who performed these operations at state hospitals violated France's legal separation of church and state.

The church-state issue flared up in 2004 when France passed a law banning religious garb, notably headscarves, from state primary and secondary schools.

Since then, Abecassis said, some Muslims in France have been putting much more emphasis on certain customs as a way of expressing their identity. "Today it's the two 'V's' -- veil and virginity," he said. "It's a social phenomenon."

Surprisingly, French social security reimburses some of the cost of the operation in cases of rape or trauma. "Ninety-nine percent of the time, the claim is a fraud," he added.

Still, Abecassis defended the operations and said he helped patients who could not pay his 2,500 euro fee. "This surgery gives them another chance," he said. "It's a rehabilitation. For many, it's the only solution."

ANOTHER PATIENT AWAITS

Sitting in the same cafe, a 19-year-old Moroccan studying in Paris who asked to be called Amel spoke just before her first consultation with Abecassis.

"I dated a boy when I was 15 and I didn't even realize what had happened," she said, referring to her first and only sexual experience. "I didn't understand what I did."

Her parents introduced her to a young man earlier this year, and they plan to wed when she returns to Morocco in June. But he would not accept a non-virgin, so she needs the operation soon.

Amel is scraping together the monthly allowance sent by her parents and emptying her savings account to pay for it. Two friends back home will lend her the remaining 1,000 euros.

"If my mother ever found out about this, she would have a mental breakdown," Amel said. "I don't want to have this surgery, but I don't have any choice."

heard of it?

heard of the Serenity Prayer?

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." - Reinhold Niebuhr

Was just walking around at Causeway Point waiting for my mummy, walked into a shop that sells some Christian-ed theme decoration, Happen to see this one thats named "Serenity Prayer"

That got me curious, I know of this prayer long time ago, but it never occur to me, "Serenity Prayer" interesting name.
What does "Serenity" means anyway?

Serenity: the state of being calm, peaceful, and untrouble

Woh, how interesting it is isnt it. Being in a troubled situation that you cant change. taunting and irritating. And that is exactly the time when we need the serenity of the Lord to take over our hearts.

To cast our cares upon Him, and be lifted up under His wings.

Rev Kenneth Hagin Jr preached today,
God says it, I believe it, that settles it.

Something that I learned quite sometime ago.
Have the Faith of God.

havent had a great impact, or should I say received the true meaning of it till today.

Wait for your turn ba. :) Your ordained moment.

fair?

Had a thought just yesterday,
plenty of people complain about God being unfair, God treating the good unfair.

Well, just tot of sharing, that hey, sometimes when we go through the down times, God's hand is on us too. That really all things are in the control of the hand of God.
His hand is never too short to help us.

Take for the very good example
Nebuchadnezzar

He is the one who took Jerusalem into capativity. He is the ruler of Babylon, the motherland of all idolatry.

But do you know...
It is God who wanted him to take Jerusalem into captivity?

1 Chr 6:15b
"...when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar."

It is in Nebuchadnezzar's reign that Daniel was made to be the chief of the governors of all wise men (of divinity and idolatry), a person who has to study the arts and culture of a land that is full of idolatry. Something that a Christians might not like to do. Isn't Daniel in the shoes of real misfortune?

But it too is in Nebuchadnezzar's reign that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego was proved faithful and walk through the furnace with 3+1 men. It too is in Nebuchadnezzar's reign that nothing shall be spoken against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.

I think we need not talk about Daniel in the Lion's Den during the reign of Belshazzar (son of Nebuchadnezzar) ya? :)

Really, God's hand is in all things, He always has the last say.

In all situations, don't complain, look at the bless-ness of your position. Praise God.
Praise Him for He is going to take you through, not just through, but emerge victoriously, as a new creation, being someone that is strengthen, through and out of the valley.

its because things are not going according to one's standards thats why its considered as unfair to one right?

well,
What is fairness then if things are according to one's own standards. Standards that one has set according to his/her own preference, advantage, comfort and way of life and thoughts.

so what is fair?

update

Got caught up with some thoughts lately,

"If you dont know how to love me, dont come near me, because your existence may hurt me"

WoH!

Going on a faith fast, I wonder hows it going to be like, will keep you guys updated.

Oh ya, forget to mention this previously,

that time on a very blessed cab ride home after the Benny Hinn final choir pract, was just sharing with the Taxi driver,

He was saying, whats bigger? Windows of Heaven or Doors of Heaven?
answer is...
Windows of Heaven.

Every month, the first week of the month, he works for the tithe.
thats a pretty good formula.
Because as a taxi driver. the income is not always very stable.
God promises, and is the only thing that allows us to test Him, says that when we give Him the tithes and the offerings, He will open up the windows of heaven and pour forth so much that you will have not enough room to contain it.

so ya, all the amount of money you earn the first week is equivalent to 10% of your income, imagine the bomb you'll get the next 3 weeks. :)

I believe that God never fails.
He is just always on time. :D

A.E

Was just reading up on why Albert Einstein is so famous,
He invented the formula E = MC square

"Einstein married Mileva Marić on January 6, 1903, and their relationship was, for the time, a personal and intellectual partnership. In a letter to her, Einstein wrote of Mileva as "a creature who is my equal and who is as strong and independent as I am."
Pretty Cool huh?
:D

Seriously I wasnt cleared at first who invented the light bulb. Is it Einstein or Edison?
Went to check it out...
then waH, surprisingly...

"Edison did not invent the first electric light bulb, but instead invented the first commercially practical incandescent light. Several designs had already been developed by earlier inventors including the patent he purchased from Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans, Moses G. Farmer,[13] Joseph Swan, James Bowman Lindsay, William Sawyer, Sir Humphry Davy, and Heinrich Göbel. Some of these early bulbs had such flaws as extremely short life, high expense to produce, and high current draw, making them difficult to apply on a large scale commercially."

sorry ar, the current English Unit that I'm teaching is on Famous People. :D

but the book was not because of the English Unit k, "Einsten Questions, Buddha Answers". I choose to borrow the book because I want to be exposed to the other religion, how the view points are different from my relationship with the Lord.

Eagles doesnt mix with the Turkeys.

Cos if an Eagle mix too long with the Turkeys, it will loss or forget its ability to fly.

If a Turkey mix with the Eagles for too long, it will have to learn to fly.

God & Einstein

was just reading a book -
Einstein Questions, Buddha Answers
Author: Supawan P.Pangawong Green

borrowed it from the regional library while waiting for a friend.

the book's pretty funny, let me extract out my favorite parts of the book

"Why genius prefer simple jobs"
"While the world expected to see these whiz kids holding prominent academic careers in their adulthoods, they, instead, turned out to be a plumber, a carpenter, a farmer or a chef. ... It is because these masterminds know it as a fact that one door is merely opened to yet another door and another endlessly, there is no exit (solution) as far as the use of the brain is concerned. ... Through experience, they will soon find out that the simplicity and ordinariness surrounding every avenue of their lives have much better tastes than exercising the power of their brains.
Quotes of Einstein to support this point
1. A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit and a violin; what else does a man need to be happy.
2. Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love.
3. Try not to become a man of success but rather become a man of value.
4. We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality.
5. The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking.
6. Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them.
7. The only sourse of knowledge is experience
8. If I had my life to live over again, I'd be a plumber. "

"God would not play dice"
"Einstein believed that the precise mathematics was the answer to everything and this too must be able to explain how God build the universe.
As he said:
I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details.

The Theory of Everything is his wanting to find an equation that can read the mind of God and his artwork in creating the universe.
Although the nurse, tending at his dead bed, tried to tell him: 'maybe God didn't want us to know his mind,'
Einstein wouldn't have it. 'God would not play dice,' said Einstein stubbornly.
His quest was fruitless; he left the world without finding the answer."

I think Einstein didn't know
Isa 55:9
“ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

and (my favorite verse :D )

Deut 29:29a
The secret things belong to the LORD our God

agony

ever had the times when you really dislike yourself?

when you wanted to do something so badly, but you know you are not suppose to?

its kind of like the heart wanted to do it so much, but the mind and reasonings just said no.
the flesh wanted it, but the spirit man says no.

am used to praying before I sleep, so was lying on my bed yesterday, preparing to pray before I allow myself to sleep.

felt led to not pray and be still.

am so surprised by the thoughts that flooded my mind. Perhaps thats the reason why I felt let to not pray ba :)
to know, acknowledge reflect and from there be improved.

truly its like the song "Here I am sent me" by Delirious?

"I'm frightened what you'll find,
When you open up my heart,"

15, 25, 35

its interesting how life is,

at this phase of life certain things are very important,

as a young girl, what is absolutely important is playing with dolls.

as years went by, they moved up into teenager life, whats important to them?
you are right,
Boy-girl relationship,

and once again, years went by, age sets in, whats important?
looking young becomes important, maintaining looks.

it really came on to me,
at different phases of life, different things are important.

what one is able to do, desire at 15 is different from 25 and 35.

I wonder where and when does this cycle ends?

learnt something these days, kinda got sick of physical attraction.
but what is attractive is the comfort that comes with the physical contact, like a simple hug and a simple kiss.

Maybe as time goes by things will change once again?

:D

increase

God is good!

Indeed when He comes, He comes in an impactful way,

it was some weeks ago, I decided to increase on my offering.

I dont feel motivated to do it as on my own side, I am trying to be more generous and really bless the people around me.

Then after an offering message I came to realize.

Which way will go into better use?
The money through your hands?
Or
The money through the hands of Jesus?

I shall move my offering up another level, and I believe generosity shall follow.

It isnt about giving to the church or giving to a sanctuary,
Its about giving to Jesus.

Is your mind right today?

Give and you'll be given, good measure press down shaken together running over, will be poured onto your blossom for with the same measure you use, it shall be measured back unto you.

Blessing I will bless you, multiplying, I will multiply your descendant.

Be Bless!

Arise and Build

Now is the time,
When heaven blends with earthly saints
The World resounds as Angels sing,
"Our God reigns",
I give my all to You,
I give my all to You

From heavens throne, Your river flow to this land,
And on this rock foundations lay,
Here we stand
I give my all to You,
I give my all to You

Pouring Out this treasure You gave
In Your promises
Our hearts turn brave
I will arise and lay down this sacrifice,
As We're building Your House (on high)

Your kingdom come
Your will be done,
On Earth as in heaven
Your Kingdom
Your will be done,
On Earth as in heaven....

BH 2nd day

Missed yesterday's Benny Hinn crusade and I heard from people of God's powerful move.
hmm...

nevermind, I shall be the obedient little girl and wait on the Lord today. Like Shine say, the Lord is not in the thunder or in the quake, the fire or the flood, God is in the stirring wind, the still small voice that speaks volumes.

God will not shortchange me,
I shall try harder next time.

:)

I Love You... Forever... with all my heart,
I love You... Forever... Forever You're My King...

Be serenaded by His Presence.

My Redeemer Lives! My Redeemer Lives!

Indeed, Its not just about Salvation and Forgiveness It follows forth with Healing.

The Face of God, whom shines with all Glory, the one that offers Forgiveness. The back of God, Smitten and Beaten for sickness, wounds and transgression.

update

ho ho ho im back blogging~

how everyone doing?

im super tired.

niway, just a mini update about my life,

am going through some smaller obstacles that i've been through in the past,
realize that its amazing how one's will is a like a tree.

plant the tree, and for a period of time its grows strong and tall.
but if you neglect it for a while and after some time, the tree aint that strong anymore.

Really learnt that there is a constant need to check ourselves and see what areas are we "slacking" in or losing control, then strive to be restored. be it putting things into action or just fasting and let the Lord take control.

Been facing a new challenge lately. met a friend and realize that things aren't as pretty as i looked at it.
then one of the areas that person is lacking in, happens to be an area that i've recently overcome. so... wOh, certainly seems like a challenge for me.

Kk! better stop now, my eyes are closing, my tummy rumbling -yup, i've been fasting- and i've yet to decide on what to do for tomorrows session, and do my nails....

See you guys at the indoor stadium tomorrow~

Easter

Easter celebration is over,
thank God for the glorious time.

need not mention tears were dropped when Jesus was sent in with His cross, or should I say our cross.

:D rephrase, should be more like, tears were poured out. :D its as though I'm part of the crowd that is crying for Jesus "He Is Innocent! Save Him"

then again, If He hadn't died for my sins, where will I be? Who will fulfill His will?

so I was sitting there seeking, Lord what am I to do?

Then it came on to me, "Cast your burden of this day to me"
its that simple, everyday in the early morning, when you wake up, give you baggages to the Lord. For this purpose He went to the cross.

Cast your cares upon Him and live a Righteous life. Let His light so shine that the world may see.

Its a choice, a daily thing. Not a one time affair.

He's a good God.

Live, that He may be lived.

Donuts for everyone

There was a certain Professor of Religion named Dr. Christianson, a
studious man who taught at a small college in the Western United
States. Dr. Christianson taught the required survey course in
Christianity at this particular institution. Every student was
required to take this course his or her freshman year regardless of
his or her major. Although Dr. Christianson tried hard to communicate
the essence of the gospel in his class, he found that most of his
students looked upon the course as nothing but required drudgery.
Despite his best efforts, most students refused to take Christianity
seriously.

This year, Dr. Christianson had a special student named Steve.
Steve was only a freshman, but was studying with the intent of going
onto seminary for the ministry. Steve was popular, he was well liked,
and he was an imposing physical specimen. He was now the starting
center on the school football team, and was the best student in the
professor's class.

One day, Dr. Christianson asked Steve to stay after class so he
could talk with him. "How many push-ups can you do "
Steve said, "I do about 200 every night."
"200 That's pretty good, Steve," Dr. Christianson said. "Do you think
you could do 300 "

Steve replied, "I don't know... I've never done 300 at a time."
"Do you think you could " again asked Dr. Christianson.
"Well, I can try," said Steve.
"Can you do 300 in sets of 10 I have a class project in mind and
I need you to do about 300 push-ups in sets of ten for this to work.
Can you do it I need you to tell me you can do it," said the
professor.

Steve said, "Well... I think I can...yeah, I can do it."
Dr. Christianson said, "Good! I need you to do this on Friday. Let
me explain what I have in mind."

Friday came and Steve got to class early and sat in the front of
the room. When class started, the professor pulled out a big box of
donuts. No these weren't the normal kinds of donuts, they were the
extra fancy BIG kind, with cream centers and frosting swirls.
Everyone was pretty excited it was Friday, the last class of the day,
and they were going to get an early start on the weekend with a party
in Dr. Christianson' s class.

Dr. Christianson went to the first girl in the first row and
asked, "Cynthia, do you want to have one of these donuts "

Cynthia said, "Yes."

Dr. Christianson then turned to Steve and asked, "Steve, would you
do ten push-ups so that Cynthia can have a donut "

"Sure." Steve jumped down from his desk to do a quick ten. Then
Steve again sat in his desk. Dr. Christianson put a donut on
Cynthia's desk.

Dr. Christianson then went to Joe, the next person, and asked,
"Joe, do you want a donut "
Joe said, "Yes."
Dr. Christianson asked, "Steve would you do ten push-ups so Joe
can have a donut " Steve did ten push-ups, Joe got a donut. And so it
went, down the first aisle, Steve did ten pushups for every person
before they got their donut. And down the second aisle, till Dr.
Christianson came to Scott.

Scott was on the basketball team, and in as good condition as
Steve. He was very popular and never lacking for female
companionship. When the professor asked, "Scott do you want a donut "
Scott's reply was, "Well, can I do my own pushups "
Dr. Christianson said, "No, Steve has to do them."
Then Scott said, "Well, I don't want one then."

Dr. Christianson shrugged and then turned to Steve and asked,
"Steve, would you do ten pushups so Scott can have a donut he doesn't
want " With perfect obedience Steve started to do ten pushups.

Scott said, "HEY! I said I didn't want one!"
Dr. Christianson said, "Look, this is my classroom, my class, my
desks, and these are my donuts. Just leave it on the desk if you
don't want it." And he put a donut on Scott's desk.

Now by this time, Steve had begun to slow down a little. He just
stayed on the floor between sets because it took too much effort to
be getting up and down. You could start to see a little perspiration
coming out around his brow. Dr. Christianson started down the third
row. Now the students were beginning to get a little angry.

Dr. Christianson asked Jenny, "Jenny, do you want a donut "
Sternly, Jenny said, "No."
Then Dr. Christianson asked Steve, "Steve, would you do ten more
Push-ups so Jenny can have a donut that she doesn't want " Steve did
ten....Jenny got a donut.

By now, a growing sense of uneasiness filled the room. The
students were beginning to say "No" and there were all these uneaten
donuts on the desks.

Steve also had to really put forth a lot of extra effort to get these
pushups done for each donut. There began to be a small pool of sweat
on the floor beneath his face, his arms and brow were beginning to
get red because of the physical effort involved.

Dr. Christianson asked Robert, who was the most vocal unbeliever
in the class, to watch Steve do each push up to make sure he did the
full ten pushups in a set because he couldn't bear to watch all of
Steve's work for all of those uneaten donuts. He sent Robert over to
where Steve was so Robert could count the set and watch Steve
closely. Dr. Christianson started down the fourth row.

During his class, however, some students from other classes had
wandered in and sat down on the steps along the radiators that ran
down the sides of the room. When the professor realized this, he did
a quick count and saw that now there were 34 students in the room. He
started to worry if Steve would be able to make it. Dr. Christianson
went on to the next person and the next and the next. Near the end of
that row, Steve was really having a rough time. He was taking a lot
more time to complete each set.

Steve asked Dr. Christianson, "Do I have to make my nose touch on
each one "

Dr. Christianson thought for a moment, "Well, they're your
pushups. You are in charge now. You can do them any way that you
want." And Dr. Christianson went on.

A few moments later, Jason, a recent transfer student, came to the
room and was about to come in when all the students yelled in one
voice, "NO! Don't come in! Stay out!" Jason didn't know what was
going on.

Steve picked up his head and said, "No, let him come."

Professor Christianson said, "You realize that if Jason comes in
you will have to do ten pushups for him "

Steve said, "Yes, let him come in. Give him a donut"
Dr. Christianson said, "Okay, Steve, I'll let you get Jason's out
of the way right now. Jason, do you want a donut "

Jason, new to the room hardly knew what was going on. "Yes," he
said, "give me a donut."

"Steve, will you do ten push-ups so that Jason can have a donut "
Steve did ten pushups very slowly and with great effort. Jason,
bewildered, was handed a donut and sat down.

Dr. Christianson finished the fourth row, then started on those
visitors seated by the heaters. Steve's arms were now shaking with
each push-up in a struggle to lift himself against the force of
gravity. Sweat was profusely dropping off of his face and, by this
time, there was no sound except his heavy breathing, there was not a
dry eye in the room.

The very last two students in the room were two young women, both
cheerleaders, and very popular. Dr. Christianson went to Linda, the
second to last, and asked, "Linda, do you want a doughnut "

Linda said, very sadly, "No, thank you."

Professor Christianson quietly asked, "Steve, would you do ten
push-ups so that Linda can have a donut she doesn't want " Grunting
from the effort, Steve did ten very slow pushups for Linda.

Then Dr. Christianson turned to the last girl, Susan. "Susan, do
you want a donut "

Susan, with tears flowing down her face, began to cry. "Dr.
Christianson, why can't I help him "

Dr. Christianson, with tears of his own, said, "No, Steve has to
do it alone, I have given him this task and he is in charge of seeing
that everyone has an opportunity for a donut whether they want it or
not. When I decided to have a party this last day of class, I looked
at
my grade book. Steve, here is the only student with a perfect grade.
Everyone else has failed a test, skipped class, or offered me inferior
work. Steve told me that in football practice, when a player messes up
he must do push-ups. I told Steve that none of you could come to my
party unless he paid the price by doing your push ups. He and I made a
deal for your sakes. Steve, would you do ten push-ups so Susan can
have
a donut " As Steve very slowly finished his last pushup, with the
understanding that he had accomplished all that was required of him,
having done 350 pushups, his arms buckled beneath him and he fell to
the floor.

Dr. Christianson turned to the room and said. "And so it was, that
our Savior, Jesus Christ, on the cross, plead to the Father, 'into
thy hands I commend my spirit.' With the understanding that He had
done everything that was required of Him, he yielded up His life. And
like some of those in this room, many of us leave the gift on the
desk, uneaten." Two students helped Steve up off the floor and to a
seat, physically exhausted, but wearing a thin smile. "Well done,
good and faithful servant," said the professor, adding "Not all
sermons are preached in words."

Turning to his class the professor said, "My wish is that you
might understand and fully comprehend all the riches of grace and
mercy that have been given to you through the sacrifice of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. He spared not only His Begotten Son, but
gave Him up for us all for the whole Church, now and forever. Whether
or not we choose to accept His gift to us, the price has been paid.
Wouldn't you be foolish and ungrateful to leave it laying on the
desk "

Happy Easter for all of you

"It Is Finished"
as He had spoken, looking at the optimistic side of things, truly, as He had declared, it is all finished.
After all, the battles belong to the Lord.

Was just reviewing the relationships of the the past, asked myself, will I go back to them?

hmm... think now is in the husband and wife season. :D cos I got an inspiration yet again about husband and wife... :X

we're reading from 1 Samuel 25
-
Once there lived a rich man, having 3000 sheeps and 1000 goats, shearing for a living. He goes by the name Nabal, Crude and Mean was the meaning. With him is his wife Abigail, Sensible and Beautiful.
The day comes for celebration, and David sent his man to Nabal for some offerings. That Nabal may spare some meat and good cuts for the celebration.

“Peace and prosperity to you, your family, and everything you own! v7 I am told that it is sheep-shearing time. While your shepherds stayed among us near Carmel, we never harmed them, and nothing was ever stolen from them. v8 Ask your own men, and they will tell you this is true. So would you be kind to us, since we have come at a time of celebration? Please share any provisions you might have on hand with us and with your friend David.” said David's servants.

and Nabal replied:
“Who is this fellow David?” “Who does this son of Jesse think he is? There are lots of servants these days who run away from their masters. v11 Should I take my bread and my water and my meat that I’ve slaughtered for my shearers and give it to a band of outlaws who come from who knows where?”

David's anger aroused greatly. so gathered together with him were 400 over as a strong army.

Then came one servant to Abigail
"David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, but he screamed insults at them. v15 These men have been very good to us, and we never suffered any harm from them. Nothing was stolen from us the whole time they were with us. v16 In fact, day and night they were like a wall of protection to us and the sheep. v17 You need to know this and figure out what to do, for there is going to be trouble for our master and his whole family. He’s so ill-tempered that no one can even talk to him!”

Wasting no time, Abigail gathered good supplies and of considerable amount, v19 and said to her servants, “Go on ahead. I will follow you shortly.” But she didn’t tell her husband Nabal what she was doing.

David was riding in the valleys towards the house and Nabel when he said "21b A lot of good it did to help this fellow. We protected his flocks in the wilderness, and nothing he owned was lost or stolen. But he has repaid me evil for good. 22 May God strike me and kill me if even one man of his household is still alive tomorrow morning!”

When Abigail saw David, she went ahead of David and bowed low, crying out, she said, "Oh please David, spare me your ears. I apologize on Nabel's behalf, I know Nabal is wicked and ill-tempered man, please don't pay any attention to him. I am not aware of the young lad that you've sent."

And Abigail gave him a well carved speech to not take vengeance into his own hands, and present him with the goods he had asked for for his celebration.
"When the Lord has done all he promised and has made you leader of Israel, 31 don’t let this be a blemish on your record. Then your conscience won’t have to bear the staggering burden of needless bloodshed and vengeance. And when the Lord has done these great things for you, please remember me, your servant!”

"David replied to Abigail, “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you to meet me today! 33 Thank God for your good sense! Bless you for keeping me from murder and from carrying out vengeance with my own hands. 34 For I swear by the Lord, the God of Israel, who has kept me from hurting you, that if you had not hurried out to meet me, not one of Nabal’s men would still be alive tomorrow morning.” 35 Then David accepted her present and told her, “Return home in peace. I have heard what you said. We will not kill your husband.”"

When Abigail arrived home, she found Nabal to be in a celebration. Abigail chose not to tell him that night. In the morning when she broke the news to him, his heart broke and suffered a stroke. The Lord strike him ten days later and he died.
-

A typical scenario of a wife being married to a man who could be better. and because of what she did, her quickness, the family was saved except the man who speak against the man of God.

Really its about covering the mistake of the other. Not running away behind a divorce.
From the AMP Bible
"... Abigail, the woman whom God has specifically held up as a pattern of right behavior in an unfortunate marriage. Here a dozen vital questions are answered through Abigail's example. She could not have known that thousands of years later people in similar circumstances would become "more than conquerors" because of her, but God knew." ... "Never let the evil disposition of one mate hinder the devotion and grace of the other. Never let the difficulties of your home lead you to abdicate your throne. Do not step down to the level of your circumstances, but lift them to your own high calling in Christ. "Be not conformed... but be ye transformed (Rom 12:1,2 KJV).""

Imagine if instead of what she did, she lamented and had a fit with the husband.
:D
Which once again is very typical. "Why you want to buy that new sound system... why the new car... see la, now the bank wants to come and claim our home..."

on the lighter note:
