1st day

First day of school, and it feels as though I'm revamping back to how I was when i started Teaching Practise... After school come back drop dead on bed kind of life, or should I say, no-life.

super tired...
think I must be really thankful that my schedule has so much PE, they call it natural slimming, I call it reduced stress from academic results.

De-stressed by eating...

got to stop it.

Anyway, todays been great,
Really thank God for the arrangement.

I'm taking 2 classes of Pri 5 PE that I had pre-aquantiance with.
Why is it important? Bcos in teaching the higher level, its alot about winning the kids over.
Just happens that 1 class are the ones that I took for the Pri 5 camp, and another I did a relief class and happened to teach them some interesting lessons on science. :)

as for the Pri 4... well, they just need some time before they warm up to me. :)

Received a big bomb today.
In the structure of a school, there is this "Subject Committee" thing, e.g: Eng Comm, Math Comm, Nation Education n Social Studies Comm and Science Committee.
So each committee is made up by selected teachers of each level.
of the teachers represented in each level, 1 will be chosen out to be the level rep, that is usually a role covered by a experience teacher, or at least someone whos been around and know whats been happened.
One teacher is leaving and another teacher is highly involved in the IT side of the whole sci affair.
So instead of getting that experience teacher who is highly involved in the IT side, they choose me...
I'll be involved in infantry, Resource purchasing, coordination, etc etc. when it comes to Pri 4 science, i'll most probably be the 1st one to relay too.


Was just reviewing how I learnt science back then,
Raise your hand if you are one of those who goes through the system of "Im going to point out to you the important parts, underline them and memorize them"
Thats what I went through.
I am eagerly looking forward to engage my students in science through powerpoint and videos... I pray that time permits.

All in all, im thankful for the things and arrangement that has happened, :) the extensive PE lessons has its advantages, the Sci comm position calls for greater stretch in the development of me as a person. Being propelled to a position that no one would ask or will be given.

Guess it certainly does fulfills the purpose of me being there.
Isn't it true that we are hired to play a role, fill a gap and meet a need? :)

Like I always say,
If not now, then when?

He said His grace is sufficient. so shall it be.

God says it, I believe it, that settles it.

last day of my 21st year,

Wanted to get a tattoo for the 21st mark,
Wanted to take indoor n outdoor pictures for the 21st mark, also didnt...

Today while waiting for choir to gather,
I approached 2 choir sisters,

"cos tomorrow's my birthday"

One of them hug me so tight (it was before i told her wats it for) that after releasing me I almost had to visit the ladies, cos i tot I've become an A cup...

But seriously!
If I dont appreciate you as someone I know, If I dont appreciate the time i had with you,
I wouldnt stick out my hand and ask for a gift hao ma!
You I dont have to be around me often.
But your gift, that I can place in my personal place, when I look at it it would remind me of you.

Finally got time to talk about this le...

Ever been in a situation when you really want something, and its kind of like sitting on the fence?
Spiritually you know its not so good for you, but you really really wanted it? Prayed and prayed about it, once, twice and three time, then finally you got a feeling that it is approved and you went straight into it?
Ends up, its not really one of the best choice you've made, you tot "I thought the Lord approve le, how come His blessing doesnt flow"

this is exactly what this verse is about.

wat are idols in the verse? Or idols in general for most of the matter in the bible?
We are to reverend God and put Him the highest in our lives. be it in deed or in heart.
Idols doesnt just refer to wooden statues that is set up at the altars. Idols also refer to the things that we set in out hearts that is place in a higher position than God in our hearts. For example Greed and Pride.

"causes him to stumble into iniquity" thats when the sitting at the fence comes in. lets use the idol Greed. lets say to eat company money, not say in big amount, just small small figures and fiddling here and there. Just nice one is in a bad finance situation. "God will understand one". One in the right stand will be able to believe for God's providence. but the other, :)

"Coming to the prophet" people in the Old Testament will seek a prophet to ask of the Lord in prayers, for us in the New Testament we can pray and seek for our own.

and so the Lord say "I will answer him according to the multitudes of the idols"
meaning He will give u to your heart desires.
Cos He allows freewill.
Cos the choice was not first made to obey Him with gladness of heart.

Just like Balaam, he was offered honor and riches to help the king curse Israel. The Lord already said Israel is a blessed nation.
1st time he asked, the Lord said no, so he denied.
2nd time he asked, the offer was raised, the Lord said no, so he denied
3rd time he asked, the offer was raised yet again. He served the King, and so the anger of the Lord was aroused.

anything of that matter has happened in your life?

Angel's wings

Went out with 2 friends yesterday, :) new friends that is ;)
was suppose to learn how to cook one, end up lei? :( didnt learn at all...
had a good meal, then went around took a long trip around Kranji.
very tired yesterday.
Guess its good to be tired in this a way, once school starts, its gonna be a different kind of tired le.

anyway these 2 persons reminds me of the decision i made, and in a very well way, pushes me to stand firm.

One's a real young boy who had an interesting past.
Reminds me of the decision that "Touch shall no longer be of sexual desire, but of comfort" and its really for good that this happened,
It just reminds me how meaningless it was, yes it satisfy desires, but just for a while, n now is not the phase of life for such a need to be fulfilled.

shared with the other friend that "Everybody has a past that directly affects their future unless they choose to make a choice."

and the other, a really nice guy, good cook, unchurched.
Though I had the decision in-mind, but never did want to put it forward, cos i didnt want people to look at me as a strict Christian, cos really its not being going by the books, its just my preference.

Its entirely a test on the emotions. The flesh hungers and pulls but on the otherhand, I know very well what I want.

The time when I literally called out, "God help me, I'm very tired (maybe affected by the physically exhausted part) comfort me."

God touched me just during worship today. :)
Had Prayer Meeting today, cell-leader was just sharing with me what she received regards me (if u are curious, ask me on MSN ba. I know who will actually), it was kind of like a confirmation, cos I received a verse 4 days before. :)

2 Cor 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

:) Thank God He is willing.

was on my way back from the market when the issue of exchanging numbers came onto me.
Its kind of like building friendship.

This mobile age calls forth immediate respond on the phone (at least to me)

Allowing the person instant access into your life just through the ring of the phone or the beep of the sms.

The need to maintain the friendship,
The need to meet-up
The exposure to relationship if the atmosphere is right (not necessary conditions are right)
The need to be intellectually on-par.
The need to spent time.

Who is wise?
Well no one is wise except Him.

calculated risk: too high!

I "pay" alot on my relationships but am not suppose to ask much in-return, which is what's required of the Lord.

Maybe thats why the world always say "Its so unfair!"

Reminds me of what i use to say, "Im good at socializing, but I dont like to socialize."

Today I went to...

I mention about wanting to go on a date with the Lord,
this isnt exactly a date with the Lord, this is something that I like to do,
I like to go to Sentosa, the beaches specifically.
Now new system le, no more Visitor Centre, need to buy Entrance ticket from the Harbour Front bus "stop" itself



This idea came up like years ago? wanted to celebrate my birthday by the beach, but well, fei said she wont wanna come, so...

anyway, maybe someday when theres more important people in my life, and they dont mind traveling will i hold my bday party there ba. :)

I realize that friends are really like the footprints on the seashore.

For a while you walk into their life, you fellowship, leave a footprint on their shore, on their hearts. Time goes by, like the waves that comes ashore, and your footprint gets washed away, no more to be seen. Its just like how people moved on, not remembering you or the past that you had with them.
Seek to bless and encourage them in the short time you have with them ba :)

Be like the waves, never giving up, always coming ashore.

Was just the reading the starting, the question came,
Why would God tell them that they are going to the Promise Land when they have to go through or should I say Without telling them they have to go through the Wilderness first?

Where is God? Is He in the Wilderness or Is He in the Promise Land?
Would people still need God when they are in Promise Land.
There's milk and honey, who needs God?

I learnt the idea that we go through down times to be shaped in the character.
But in this book I learnt another thing.

Why the Wilderness?
Because there, they will meet God.
Through the lousy times they come to know of God's character,

The Red Sea - God show them that He alone can deliver them. He is our Deliverer (Exo 14: 14 "The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

The Bitter Waters of Marah - The tree was cast into the water, that represent Jesus, the back that was wounded that we'll be healed (Exo 15:26 and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD that heals you.")

Bread from Heaven - besides "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" God is our Provider. No one lacked. (Exo 16: 17-18 Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less. So when they measured it by omer, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gather little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need.)

these are just examples for you to know.

The point is, it sure never occured to me that God led them to the wilderness that they may know of God's character. WoH. I always look at it as its about building our character. WoH

And of course thats just the opening part to whet our appetite to really wanna draw close, Draw Near to the Lord.

wanted to blog about Land of Ur of the Chaldees

Was reading the Amplified Bible (go get yourself one) read Gen, the footnote to the chapter. it says:

"Abram's hometown was Ur of the Chaldees. As the result of extensive archaeological excavations there by C. Leonard Woolley n 1922-34, a great deal is know about Abram's background.
Space will not permit more than a glimpse at excavated Ur, but a few items will show the high state of civilization. The entire house of the average middle-class person had from ten to twenty rooms and measured forty to fifty-two feet; the lower floor was for servants, the upper floor for the family, with five rooms for their use; additionally, there was a great chamber and a lavatory reserved for visitors and a private chapel.
A school was found and what the students studies was shown by the clay tablets discovered there. In the days of Abram the pupils had reading, writing, and arithmetic as today. They learned the multiplication and division tables and even worked at square and cube root.
A bill lading of about 2040 B.C (about the era in which Abram is believed to have lived) showed that the commerce of that time was far-reaching. Even the name "Abraham" has been found on the excavated clay tablets (J.P. Free, Archaeology and Bible History). "

Whats about it that really caught me was hey, the Land of Ur is like the modern day Singapore, or even wealthier than Singapore.
Look at the standard of the house of a Average, middle class person... look at the education system.

A look at Wikipedia and it will tell you, that same land later became part of Babylon. You know the story, how rich prosperous Babylon was.

Turn it around and look at it from Abram's point of view. How would you react if you lived in a place like Ur back than, then your father took you out to another land called Canaan and the father died on his way in Haran? Then comes a call from heaven asking you to move on and go into Canaan. A land that lived the people who were cursed by their forefathers. (rem Noah and the son who went around telling people of his father's nakeness? His descendent lived in that land)
Would you have moved?

No doubt about it that God came to Abram in a glorious way, and everything.
But like it is, you've experience it, but would you have carried it on? To how far will you go? How much are you willing to resist the temptations around you?

Thats why they say "Many are called, but few are chosen"
I believe that Abraham's faithfulness was appointed to him when he was in the Father's hand.
That seed being in the heart allowed and got him through the times.
"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing where he went."

Live life as though you have been chosen. Because you wont know till the day you stand before His throne.

Through good times and bad times, His grace is sufficient.

update

Was just reading 2 friends' blog, both from choir,
think they are pretty young, well, at least younger than me la huh. :D
Yes... I'm old... *sob* *sob* but well, show me someone that doesnt grow old.

What's about their blog for me to mention here, its not so much about the revelations they have and everything.
But rather, the kind of events that happens in their life,
the late night snacks, outings and fellowship they have that I would certainly LOVE to have.
Its like admiring? or being jealous if thats the word to use.
and no its not a case of turkeys mixing with eagles. All are real cool people.

To certain extend I wish I have their kind of life, then again, theres someone out there who would love to have my kind of life.
Guess its like what the Lord has confirmed. I shall not seek the approval of others, but my confidence from the Lord.

But also at the same time, reminds me of the instability, reminds me to the Hoo-Haa life that air-stewardess are rumoured to have.

My usual would be oh going to Sentosa. the sand the sea and the beach. some place that I like.
But hey... what does the Lord like?
Heard from a broadcast, what people really need, or should I say Elderly really need is your attention, u just sitting there listening to them, when you really do that, God will be looking down from heaven giving you a big wide smile. :D
well, a big wide smile is not what im seeking, I would love to receive that, I want communion with the Lord,
So we shall see.

went to a wake just now,
seems like all Christian wakes uses Ps 23 as the titled verse

If you have a choice, which verse would you use?

Bless the Lord oh my soul?

ever wondered why's a wake called a wake?
read a kid story about it but cant find it le.

I guess it must be that, the first ever wake held was for some rich person.
As he/she was very famous, the funeral ceremonial took a long time, lots of people came to take a last look at him/her.
and you know the story, before he/she was buried, he/she wake up from the death.
Thats why people call it a wake. In the hopes that the person will "Wake" up from the dead.

anyway, this was a conference worth going for.
For my life, theres alot of areas being touched,
about being a testimony in the marketplace.
knowing tt every movement we make is a testimony for the Lord. being that everything we do becomes a form of worship unto the Lord.
Standing in the gap.
Like Liu Gen Hong say its not about preaching the gospel, its about living the life of Christ out.
Whats the difference btw him and the rest in the industry, not that he is of any higher statue because he has Christ.
But being in Christ gave him the bigger capacity, more grace for repentance and really being challenged by the environment.

My tap was turned on when he proposed. wah... so touched.
then comes Sun's birthday celebration.
God's good.

Was just talking to a friend, he mention about having a passion in dealing with people that a re intellectually challenged.
Side note: how bless we are. Praise God.

Just as another friend who shared, he started off as a security personnel in the same ministry. we called it the JAMs (Jesus for All Minds)
How they would run around, dont really think like we do, bite people and all that.
But when the presence of the Lord is here, they are just stolen away, on their knees hands outstretch, worshipping someone whom you couldnt grasp, for that period of time, no nothing, no menacing behavior.

The moment of pure worship, that you can see so visually that really thats the kind of attention worship that the Lord deserves.

When was the last time you got lost in the Lord's presence like they do?
I had mine last night~
and I'm going for it again~

Just one touch,

one trickle,
and a mighty river will flow.

Was reminded of my calling. it came together with a song. Heard before this song called "Miracle Maker" by Delirious? ?

Am I manifesting my calling? Have I been changing the atmosphere?
